NEW STRATEGIES OF HIV PREVENTION: (WAY) BEYOND ABC
A two-day seminar will take place on the 25th and 26th June 2014 at the ZCBF, Alton, Richards Bay.
Presenters: Neil M. Orr (MA Psych) and David R. Patient (MHT; PLWHA)
This seminar is designed to bring participants up to speed in terms of the range of new approaches to HIV prevention, which we call the A-3B-4C-T Model: ARVs / Barriers / Breastfeeding/ Blood / Couples / Community/ Co-infections / Circumcision /Community Viral load / Testing.
The purpose of this seminar is to allow participants to become aware of the 8 primary methods of prevention, how they work and why they work. It is also the intention of the seminar is to help participants to understand enough about each strategy to be able to develop a prevention strategy for his/her own organisation. Participants will be provided with reference documents (electronic). This seminar will update your knowledge and enhance your existing wellness programme; your wellness champions and EAP service providers by bring them up to date on the current prevention and treatment options.
